Time after time, after time Marketed by Lori Thorsteinson 204-982-2930 www.parkhillhomes.ca Both the plaques and the individual numbers and letters are available in three fonts — standard Arial, funky Lithos and futuristic Timeburner, with a fourth to be added soon — and can be mounted to all manner of substrates, including metallic water features, decorative stone slabs, and freestanding mailboxes and signposts. Not surprisingly, they're popular with landscapers working on new builds, who often avail themselves of StateCraft's custom-design option to go even further outside the box. "We've done everything from script fonts to smiley faces," says Sawatzky. "Landscapers seem to really enjoy being able to play with these, because there are multiple options as to how they can be utilized, and so do people who are looking for the chance to showcase their house in a different way." To view samples of StateCraft's work, visit them online at state-craft.com, or drop by the showrooms of their distributors, Matix Lumber, Kesay Design Centre and TimberStone Distribution. On average, orders run between $120 and $200, though the more customized requests can exceed that, depending on size and scope. But as Sawatzky points out, it makes sense to invest a little extra in a design element that literally helps your house stand out from the others. "It's the finishing touches," he says. "To spend half a million dollars on a house and then finish it off with some five-dollar numbers? That seems a little bit counterintuitive to me." POH TO SPEND HALF A MILLION DOLLARS ON A HOUSE AND THEN FINISH IT OFF WITH SOME FIVE-DOLLAR NUMBERS? THAT SEEMS A LITTLE BIT COUNTERINTUITIVE TO ME. Parade of Homes Spring 2019 61
