"The flip-down seats are fabulous. You can fold them down
and they're out of the way," Besser says. "The ones we sell are
made of bamboo, so they're hypoallergenic."
Several other conveniences make life easier for people with
arthritis or limited mobility, such as single-handle faucets.
"They're easier to turn off and on and it's easier to adjust
the temperature. Touch faucets and touchless toilets, which
flush when you hover your hand above the sensor, help those
with limited mobility to be fully functional and maintain that
independence."
While some homeowners are dispensing with bathtubs in
favour of luxury showers, walk-in tubs are another option,
Besser adds.
"They allow for someone to be fully seated in the tub
as if in a chair, and still have that bath."
