"There is a much greater variety in drapery
fabrics than in blind fabrics," he says.
"There are also a number of different
styles of pleats available, and many ornate
decorative rods. Draperies can be added
overtop of blinds to give you the function
of a blind, but the colour and texture of
the drapery fabric."
Full drapes have largely given way
to side panels, hung on decorative
rods to soften the look of blinds or
shades.
But for those who do want
traditional draperies, Siddall says
they are available in hundreds of
rich colours, patterns and textures.
