>> It feels good to get your house
sold. And the satisfaction of decluttering
before you sold it is part of that good
feeling. Now that you are moving into a
beautiful new space, wouldn't it be great
to keep that clutter from coming back?
Pauline Boisselle, owner of For Space
Sake, says it's best to get ahead of the
clutter curve before you move in.
"Let's say you have a mudroom: In a
normal house, you'll have one closet in
the mudroom or laundry room, and it
usually has one shelf and rod," she says.
"Where are you going to put your mitts
and gloves and toques? Where are you
going to put your boots? Where are the
kids going to hang their jackets? Where
are you putting backpacks? You're stuck
— you really have nothing."
Boisselle says closet systems and
organizers give you a framework to build
good organizational habits. They can
help streamline your rooms and keep
things off those closet floors.
"When you organize properly with a
closet system, you might even be able to
do away with some furniture," she says.
