Creating Dreams Contd from page 28 The Manitoba Home Builders Association does an excellent job of promoting the Parade through all kinds of media. Its a very valuable asset for us. In its lineup this Spring, Artista is focusing on using bricks and glass for its interiors and will be featuring its unique style in a number of different ways, including a Winnipeg Jets-themed home theatre. In todays homes, new technology is key, Mr. Controneo says. People are spending more time in their homes, so home automation is a big deal. Were making homes more and more interactive. We have iPads built into the wall of the homes from where you can control almost everything. The MHBA is expecting 40,000 people to attend the 2013 Spring Parade March 2 to 24. The crowds remain strong, but the quality of the individual interactions has increased, Mr. Moore says. Todays consumers have done their homework. Theyre asking some detailed questions. If people are interested in a home or aspect of dcor, theyve done their research beforehand. Its refreshing to see. Manitoba has one of the lar est Parade of Homes in the country, Mr. Moore adds. The event allows builders to showcase their products to thousands more people than it would be possible to reach on their own.
