The local resale market is also strong, with an increase of between four and five per cent last year, Mr. Moore says.
���Homes continue to increase in price on a regular basis and
the apartment vacancy rate is still under one per cent. We
have a three month inventory of houses with half as many resale listings per capita as other major Canadian cities.���
Mr. Moore feels such successes as the return of the
Winnipeg Jets and the recent spate of major building projects ��� including the development of southwest Winnipeg with IKEA as well as the new Bomber
stadium, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights
and the transit corridor ��� have bolstered the housing industry and vice-versa.
