tip the scales at the Westman Reptile Gardens
east of Brandon, home to one of Canada's
largest collection of exotic animals, including
more than 300 species of snakes, turtles, lizards
and crocodiles. See baby geckos and Gila
monsters, bullfrogs and boa constrictors, plus
a menagerie of assorted insects and creepy
crawlies. For exhibit information and hours,
see www.reptilegardens.ca.
And while we're talking reptiles, slither over
to the Narcisse Snake Dens — about a one
hour drive north from Winnipeg to see the
world famous red-sided garter snakes. (Hint:
Sunny days are always best for snake viewing.)
