Built in the mid-19th century, it's now the final resting place of Chief Peguis — defender of First Nations' rights and friend to the Red River settlers. Take a nature walk of the grounds in early spring while the sap is flowing, or attend regular Sunday services beginning in June. Or Search into some of France's Past >>Trappist Monastery Ruins (PHS) — Established in St. Norbert in 1892 by five members of the Trappist Order (from Bellefontaine, France), the monastery was gutted by fire in 1982 after the monks relocated to the nearby town of Holland. While still operational, the self-sufficient site featured milking barns, stables, a cheese house, apiary, sawmill and cannery.
