Welcome Home
e MHBA extends
our sincere thanks and
gratitude to all who
work hard everyday
to keep us safe and
ensure our industry
continues working
through the pandemic.
Overall, look for carpet and furniture fabrics that are tightly
woven — in colours and patterns that work as camouflage.
Animals will shed, and bring up hairballs, and do lots of
other messy things. For sofas, consider fabrics like Crypton,
a synthetic that will defeat almost anything your pet can
throw at it — or throw up on it. Good old leather is pretty
tolerant, although it will show scratches. Less expensive
pleather works, and so does machine-washable ultrasuede.
Sturdy denim or canvas can look great in the family room,
as slipcovers or upholstery, and they are happy to let the
vacuum cleaner do its thing.
Dander and fur can and will stick to walls, so steer clear of
flat finishes and opt for gloss or semi-gloss paint.
CUSTOM CONVENIENCES
Built-in feeding, grooming and kennel areas save time on
clean-up and organizing, keep pets safe when you're out of
the house, and offer a space for respite if your dog or cat
needs a little me-time.
In the kitchen, a recess tucked under a cabinet keeps pet
bowls accessible but not underfoot. And an extra pull-out
recycling bin is ideal for storing bags of dog food: It's handy
for serving, looks great and it's pretty much impossible for
Rover to get into it when you're not looking.
