14 Your Guide to Investors Group Field BOMBERS HONOUR LONG-TIME SEASON TICKET HOLDER AN ENDURING PASSION FOR THE WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS that started over six decades ago has now been passed down through four generations of one fan family. The positive attitude that has inspired several generations started with 91-year-old Harry Rosenberg and endures into the new era about to begin at Investors Group Field. Two years ago, Rosenberg was formally honoured by the football club as one of the team's longest consecutive season ticket holders with an over 60 year dedication to the Blue Bombers. "At my grandfather's 90th birthday celebration two years ago, the Bomber organization gave him an autographed Doug Brown jersey which was presented by quarterback Buck Pierce," said grandson, Brayden Bernstein, who added Harry "is the most loyal, devoted and positive Bomber fan of all time." The family's affection for the Blue Bombers began with Harry who attended football games with his daughter, Brayden's mother, when she was seven years-old. "They sat in the north end zone and she was a huge Kenny Ploen fan," said Bernstein. "My father has had season tickets since he was 17 years-old. When my parents married 35 years ago, they bought season tickets together. With the exception of the two years they lived in San Diego in 'MY FATHER HAS HAD SEASON TICKETS SINCE HE WAS 17 YEARS-OLD. WHEN MY PARENTS MARRIED 35 YEARS AGO, THEY BOUGHT SEASON TICKETS TOGETHER.' the early 80's, they have faithfully attended every Blue Bomber game – rain, shine or snow." Bernstein said the Blue Bombers have been a significant part of his life since he and his younger brother, at ages 6 and 5, started regularly attending games with their parents. Both of the Bernstein boys played bantam football which led to Brayden's team winning the 2005 championship game on his favourite team's home turf at Canad Inns Stadium, an experience the young Bomber fan remembers as "a huge thrill." The following year, the family attended the Grey Cup game in that same venue. "We are all such big football fans that going to games together has become a tradition," he said. "While we have yet to see the Blue Bombers win a Grey Cup, we remain as hopeful as our grandfather." "SEARCY MEANS SERVICE" Congratulations to Investors Group Field and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, we are proud to have been part of this terrific experience in the building of this state of the art facility. www.searcytrucking.com Congratulations Stuart Olson Dominion Construction on the completion of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Store and Admin Offices 204.633.7305 | www.excoelectric.ca
