22 Manitoba Home Builders' Association Celebrates 85 Years BY KRISTIN MARAND Daytona Homes, part of the Tacada group of companies, has been building homes in Winnipeg since 2016 with approximately 600 happy homeowners to date. Their award-winning homes can be found in all areas of Winnipeg, with current construction happening in Aurora, Summerlea, Bonavista and Devonshire Park. Carriage Signature Homes launched in Winnipeg in 2021 to provide additional choice in the market, specifically for those looking for more customized designs and elevated finishes. Daytona and Carriage were award winners in the 2021 Manitoba Parade of Homes, in addition to Builder of Choice at the Customer Insight H.O.M.E Awards, and won multiple Manitoba Home Builders' Sales Agent Awards. One of the essential customer care pieces for Daytona and Carriage is a one-month check-in, explains Alana Yaren, sales and marketing manager. "We take a proactive approach to warranty. We come and visit you one month after you've moved in to make sure that everything's OK in your home and you know how to operate your home properly," she says. "Our homeowners really do appreciate the continued care that we take for them." Both Daytona Homes and Carriage Signature Homes have been proud and active members of the Manitoba Home Builders' Association since their inception and congratulate the association on its 85th anniversary. "The MHBA is a strong advocate for the new home industry in our province, and its membership roster represents the very finest in home builders," says Ken Braun, president and general manager for Daytona Homes and Carriage Signature Homes. "We especially applaud the work the association did throughout the pandemic to provide guidance and ensure the continued operation of our industry and continued exceptional service to all future homeowners." With the challenges of the pandemic now largely behind us, both companies are looking forward to summer, including exciting corporate partnerships with Folklorama and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. "We strongly believe it is our responsibility to give back and support the communities we build in. We want to be part, in a small way, of bringing back energy to our dear city," Yaren says. The partnership with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' Sacks for Charity will see the company donate 100 meals to Siloam Mission for every sack made by the Bombers at a home game. In addition, the company has planned initiatives to support organizations including Willow Place and St. Amant. This summer, additional lots for single-family homes will be released and new exterior designs will be available. Taking the needs of their customers into consideration, the company will offer new layouts that include work-from-home spaces. Mobility-friendly designs for multi- generational families are also available. In addition, construction will commence on a 21-unit townhome project in Devonshire Park and a new show home will open in Aurora in mid-August. "We are humbled by the overwhelming positive reception to our homes and way of doing business," Braun says. "We are excited to be part of the growth of Winnipeg and look forward to future opportunity to enhance the lives of homeowners and the city."
