Braund says people like "multi-level living," as well as
all the other benefits that come with a condominium.
They are affordable for first-time buyers and for
mature homeowners who want to downsize. They
tend to be in convenient locations, close to transit or
shops. And if you don't want to shovel snow again
in your lifetime, a maintenance-free home is just the
ticket.
StreetSide has several more condominium
developments in the pipeline — including apartment-
style condos in Sage Creek and along the Red River
on St. Mary's Road — although construction dates
and sales launches have yet to be determined.
One upcoming project to keep an eye on is Lynx
Gate Estates, planned for Aurora at North Point in
northwest Winnipeg. The collection of two-storey,
three-bedroom townhomes with attached garages
is modelled on an extremely popular Amber Grove
model, The Birch. It was such a big hit with buyers
that StreetSide decided to give the people more of
what they want at Lynx Gate Estates.
"We could not hold on to them," Braund says.
"We said, 'Why not do that floorplan for the entire
development?' "
