Learn all about native plants and wildflower species at Winnipeg's Living Prairie Museum, at
2795 Ness Ave. The 13-hectare property was set aside in 1968 to preserve tall-grass prairie.
It offers many educational opportunities and, occasionally, it hosts seed sales and
similar events.
Friends of the Living Prairie Museum is an organization devoted to assisting with education,
fundraising, seed collecting and a variety of other supporting acts.
It also hosts a Winter Speaker Series. The current series wraps up on Tuesday, March 21, with
the Zoom presentation Native Plants for Native Lawns, starting at 7 p.m. Expert gardener
Ash Burkowski explains how to transform a high-maintenance lawn into a sustainable
— and pollinator-friendly — garden.
Members can register online anytime. Registration is open to non-members on March 7.
