Meeting that need is one of the priorities addressed in the strategic plan. Ventura Land Company's Quarry Ridge Park is providing some options, with its mix of large lots, duplex lots and multi-family products. "Quarry Ridge Park continues to grow with more diverse housing options, including ones built on smaller lots, which will increase affordability," says Smith. Two show homes from Ventura Custom Homes will be featured during the Spring Parade of Homes — a duplex with front-facing garages at 10 Quarry Ridge Drive, and a two-storey model on a laned lot at 49 McConkey Cres. Another developer has an approved subdivision that will also offer a variety of housing options on smaller lot sizes in the near future. Smith believes that five or 10 years from now, more people will have discovered Stonewall and settled down there. "Our population will definitely have increased," she says. "We're starting to see a more diverse population. We're hoping we can capitalize on that and still have a sense of community pride, but on a larger level. "We don't want to get too big. It's a real delicate balance. You have your core of people who were born and raised in Stonewall and like that small-town feeling, and then you have people who are moving to Stonewall and want to see more amenities and things that we can offer. "We always want to be mindful of long-term residents and make sure that we don't get to the point where we don't recognize Stonewall anymore."
