John and Tamara Wells moved to Taylor Farm in Headingley last fall — and their only regret is that they didn't do it sooner. Located 10 minutes from Winnipeg, the Qualico community offers the quiet beauty of country living that's a short drive from the city. Tamara says they felt comfortable as soon as they moved to Taylor Farm. They enjoy strolling with their dogs on the walking trails in the community, as well as along the river in the winter. She also likes how people seem willing to pitch in and help in the community. For John, Taylor Farm's large yards and setbacks caught his attention. "Traffic is light in the area, making it really safe for the kids. Walking around Taylor Farm, the houses are more modest in square footage compared to other developments," he says. "The number of builders in the area also adds to the unique appearance of each house. Clearly, no two houses are the same in the neighbourhood." The duo also enjoy the amenities and atmosphere of Headingley. "Headingley is always a place where we have spent time, usually to access Beaudry Park. Having the access to the park, the Grand Trunk Trail and subsequently the Harte Trail for cycling has been amazing," Tamara says. "I am also exceptionally impressed by how organized the area is with the community centre having so many activities to do, even for adults. I plan on doing pickleball come fall. The library is amazing and the first thing I joined when we arrived. There is easy access to the city and many amenities that I need without having to drive far." John notices he can breathe a little easier when he's getting close to home. "Coming home from work, my entire mindset changes as soon as I pass the perimeter," he says. Tara Reid, sales and development manager for Qualico Communities, says Phase 4 of Taylor Farm is now fully serviced and selling. In addition, a new entrance off Portage Avenue at McGuckin Road in Taylor Farm is now open. "Phase 4 brings on the community's first wetland walkout lots as well as additional park walkout lots," Reid says. "With four new wetlands and a continuation of the naturalized pathways, Phase 4 brings on more open space for residents to enjoy. With lot widths ranging from 64 to 90 feet, there are a lot of options for buyers to create their dream home in this peaceful community." For those who are interested in learning more, the fall show homes offer a glimpse into life in Taylor Farm. "The seven fall 2023 show homes are located on Bresaylor Drive and Ammeter Bay," Reid says. "The show homes are built on 78- to 86-foot lots with designs that make excellent use of the lot widths." She encourages everyone to visit Taylor Farm to experience the quiet beauty of this sought-after community. Visit taylorfarm.com to find out more.
