16 PARADE of HOMES FALL 2023 With everything from parks and trails to businesses and shopping, Sage Creek offers something to suit every taste. Tara Reid, Qualico Communities' sales and development manager, says Sage Creek was designed with open spaces and community amenities in mind. "The community is home to more than nine kilometres of trails that are usable 12 months of the year and lead to destinations such as Ron Duhamel Park, several mini playgrounds, a dry pond nature trail and the Village Centre," she says. "Residents from all corners of Sage Creek are connected to the trails, parks and naturalized spaces so it's easy to get outside to play, exercise or just enjoy nature." At the same time, the community continues to add attractions and amenities. Frank Capasso is president of the Sage Creek Residents' Association, which has been instrumental in working with stakeholders to build a state-of-the-art pump track in the new Phase 10 park, as well as enhancements to the Ron Duhamel park and playground. The Village Centre continues to blossom around Burning Glass Road and Sage Creek Boulevard while the entire community grows at an exponential rate, Capasso says. "The Village Centre features a wide range of shopping, convenience stores, groceries, dining, professional and lifestyle services. It's a fulfilling destination for residents and visitors alike," Capasso says. "Sage Creek is a great community in Winnipeg. It is vibrant and friendly. It has a strong sense of community and the residents take pride in the neighbourhood." Sage Village, Sage Creek's first apartment-style condominium project built by StreetSide Developments, is under construction and now pre-selling. "It will offer 73 two- and three- bedroom units in a five-storey building. The building will include underground parking, a fitness centre as well as an owners' lounge," Reid says. "The location is perfectly situated within the Village Centre, which offers easy access to retail and service amenities as well as the trail connections for getting out and enjoying the communities' open spaces." Looking ahead, The Meadows Retirement Residence will join the Sage Creek community in 2025. Adam Janzen of Janzen Projects, the developer responsible for The Meadows, said this project is geared towards independent seniors. "Construction is currently underway for the 178-unit assisted living building. In addition, the building will have heated underground parking," he says. "The Meadows will provide high quality food, weekly housekeeping, activities and more. It will be focused on taking care of its residents and providing excellent services in a beautiful building." Key amenities include an open dining room, private dining sky lounge that will be also available to the residents of Sage Creek for rent. The facility will feature a gym with fitness classes, theatre room, multi-purpose rooms, games room and outdoor patio area. The spacious suites will include in-suite laundry, dishwashers and private balconies. "We are currently working with the Sage Creek Residents' Association and Qualico Communities to provide a rental space for special occasions," Janzen adds. "All occasions will have access to in-house catering." Adding to the excitement, Reid says the Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine will open a French language K-8 school on Witham Road in Phase 8. The school, which is expected to open in September 2024, will accommodate 450 students as well as a 74-space daycare program.
