20 PARADE of HOMES FALL 2023 Bison Run Takes Strides I N W I N N I P E G S O U T H BY JENNIFER MCFEE The community of Bison Run is on pace to be a popular place to call home in south Winnipeg. Located in Waverley West, Bison Run is Qualico Communities' newest community, and Phase 2 lots are now selling. "Bison Run is really starting to take shape with many homes under construction, along with the first multi- family project," says Tara Reid, sales and development manager for Qualico Communities. "As this community grows, the variety of housing options will make it the perfect place for people at many different stages of life." In addition to housing diversity, Bison Run will offer plenty of opportunities to get outside and enjoy nature, Reid adds. "With limestone trails and pedestrian- friendly roads, residents will be able to enjoy the public gathering places and connect to destinations such as schools, the future recreation campus and other amenities." Bison Run is conveniently located near the University of Manitoba and currently has two schools within the community. Bison Run School opened its doors in January 2023 for kindergarten to Grade 8 students, while Pembina Trails Collegiate is opening for the 2023-24 school year for Grade 9 to 12 students. Together, these schools provide Bison Run residents with a comprehensive educational journey from the ground up. "It's rare to have a school built in a new community before the first house possession takes place," Reid says. "Having both a K-8 school and a high school complete so soon after launching this new community is very exciting." Reid encourages anyone interested in building in Bison Run to contact a builder from Qualico Communities' participating builder group to place their name on the waitlist. Adding to the excitement, StreetSide Developments is looking to develop both two- and three- storey condominium townhomes and six-storey mid-rise condominiums over the next several years in the Bison Run community. StreetSide recently broke ground on Esprit Townhomes, which are three- storey back-to-back townhomes with private entrances and urban patios. These townhomes are conveniently located within walking distance to current and future Bison Run amenities.
