"Composite decking is becoming
more and more prominent now.
It's maintenance-free, it will last
a long time and it will look good
forever. So we see a lot more
people utilizing those types
of products, as well as metal
composite handrails and railing
versus lumber. Lumber is still
there — it's still popular, but we
are now seeing more mainte-
nance-free products available."
No matter how big or small the
area, homeowners want their
backyard paradises to last.
"People want to create a space
that they can enjoy for a long
period of time. They want to
connect to nature. I think people
want to connect more to the
outdoors and spend more time
outside. It's not necessary to go
somewhere to do that — it's right
in your own backyard," Kosc says.
"It's being able to go into their
backyard and enjoy the weather
or have a fire or spend time with
family without having to go
anywhere else. It's their own little
retreat, in a sense."
They might even consider it
to be their own little world.
The building supply store offers a 3D design service where a
homeowner's preference can be drawn up and costs estimated.
