SAVOUR MANITOBA | SPRING 24 37 WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET A BOTTLE THAT IS CORKED: If you do happen to get a bottle that is corked, unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it. No amount of decanting will help. In fact, oxygen exposure often makes cork taint worse. Don't be afraid to bring the wine back to the wine store you purchased it from or call your server to let them know the bottle is corked. It happens and won't offend them. Most importantly, don't be afraid to try the same bottle again. A bad cork is just bad luck and is not a reflection on the producer. Cork allows a small amount of oxygen to enter the bottle, which is needed to assist the aging process of fine wines.
