reenspaces are an essential component of healthy cities.
The ecology of a park is good for the environment, filtering a
ir and water. The environment, in turn, is good for the people who
visit. Studies have shown that parks positively impact people's
social, physical and mental health. To maintain Assiniboine Park,
Winnipeg's largest greenspace that sees over ten million visitors
per year, climate consciousness and sustainability inform
everything they do.
"We have an education team, and they
work to engage the public on how to
better care for the natural environment
and help people form that connection to
nature. Within our operational policies,
we encourage sustainable procurement,
and we track various data streams so
that we can have a sense of what our
environmental impact looks like," ex-
