We acknowledge our role in global climate efforts and prioritize mitigating Hudbay's environmental impacts while supplying critical metals to foster a greener economy in the communities where we operate. Our commitment to climate action is demonstrated through our ambitious greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets, which aim to reduce scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Through responsible energy management and efficient operations, we consistently rank in the lower half of GHG emissions intensity among global copper producers, with over 50% of our indirect energy derived from renewable sources. Our Manitoba Business Unit is at the forefront of sustainable practices. Following the successful trial of a battery electric scooptram in 2023 at our Lalor mine in Snow Lake, we have expanded our electric fleet, with operators increasingly favouring such eco-friendly alternatives. The transition to sustainable practices has also demonstrated economic benefits, notably reducing maintenance costs and diesel consumption. Beyond emissions, water conservation remains paramount. At our Lalor mine, we've achieved a 40% reduction in freshwater usage since 2020. By capturing and treating natural groundwater for processing, we have minimized our reliance on freshwater resources. We've also implemented a new policy that outlines best practices for the safe handling and disposal of waste. Furthermore, we are focused on optimizing our tailings facilities in Manitoba. In Snow Lake, we are reducing the need for immediate expansion of the tailings facility through more efficient tailings deposition methods. In Flin Flon, we are evaluating the opportunity to reprocess tailings to produce critical minerals and precious metals while reducing the environmental footprint. Hudbay is committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable mining practices.
