Picnic Planning cont. If you are super busy or not inclined to cook, there are fantastic companies that can make your picnic special. A tasty and unique option to replace the sandwich is the empanada. ey can be eaten cold or hot and pair well with so many types of food and beverages. Winnipeg's Corrientes offers several options. Charcuterie boxes have become another picnic standard. A local company called Peckish creates the bulk of your picnic-ready options that can be delivered directly to your home. ey even make candy boxes to add a touch of fun. Just add a bottle of food- friendly wine or the beverages of your choice and you're ready to enjoy the day. After you have chosen the main food for the day, consider additional items to feed a hungry crowd. Crackers, chips and additional dips can extend the meal. If you don't use them, they can go back in the pantry where you found them. From the straw basket to the backpack, the picnic carrier has evolved. No matter your budget, there are options. Your choice of carrying device depends upon the location you'll choose for the outing. If you're traversing a mountain, hauling an inflexible picnic basket is not practical.
