True Brit Baker serves up a little slice of England Eastern By Lindsey Ward T he name Adele seems to spell success these days – even in Steinbach, where an English business owner's homemade pastries are selling like hotcakes. Adele Dart shares a moniker with an internationally acclaimed singer, but her product is truly unique – especially compared to others on offer around the province, she insists. "I've been around Winnipeg and tasted the English pies and, sorry to say, but they're not traditional English pies," she says. "It's like a folded-over meat pie with no foil," she explains, adding Cornish pasties are most traditional, but the shop's chicken, bacon and mushroom pasties have been a hit. On the sweeter side, Adele's creates fruit pie combos like blueberry-peach and cherry-marshmallow. They also make a mean cinnamon-bun cookie, and serve up a variety of English
