NeeginanCollegeofAppliedTechnologyOfferingExcitingProgramsforMarch2014 Neeginan College of Applied Technology is pleased to offer two programs startingMarch2014.TheAviation(TIG)WeldingTechnicianprogramaswellas the Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Technician program both start March 3, 2014. All programs are delivered in a positive and interactive learning environment with a range of supports and services available for students to help them succeed on their path toward a greater future. Some of our resources include: • Licensed and subsidized Aboriginal day care • Student housing (NeeginanVillage) • Access to library and computer labs • Access to cultural supports • Access to health and wellness supports • One-on-one academic and career mentoring • Job placements with potential permanent employers NeeginanCollegeoffersstudentsaseamlesstransitionfromeducationandtrainingtoemployment.StudentsaresupportedwithJobCoach- esandEmploymentCounsellorswhoidentifypotentialemployers,andarrangeon-the-jobtrainingleadingtoemployment. NeeginanCollege is proud to offer this unique approach as part of itsmandate under CAHRD. MedicalDeviceReprocessingTechnicianProgram Aviation(TIG)WeldingTechnicianProgram The Aviation (TIG) Welding Technician program provides the essentialskillsandtrainingforCanadianCouncilforAviationand Aerospace (CCAA) and the Canadian Welding Bureau TIG Welding Accreditation. This program includes workplace safety, trade-related math and measurement, WHMIS, first aid/CPR, blueprint drawings and documentation reading, metallurgy, welding, cutting fundamentals, oxy-fuel welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Metal Inert Gas welding (MIG), Shielded MetalArcWelding(SMAW),TungstenInertGaswelding(TIG),and repair and fabrication of primary tubular structures. The Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Technician program consistsofclassroominstructionandworkpracticumataclinical site. Technicians work in hospitals and clinics, operating rooms, doctor'soffices,andhealthcarefacilities. Thisincludesspecialty areas such as acute care, community care, and extended care facilties.
