StreetSide Development has Parade entries at Sage
Creek and at Bridgwater Forest North Condomini-
ums at 25 Bridgeland Dr. North. The company is also
selling premium luxury condos on Tache Avenue
and character condos in historic Exchange District
buildings at 110 James Ave. and 132 James Ave.
Randall Homes has a Parade entry at Sage Creek
as well, and the company is developing a bunga-
low condo community called Oakwood Estates in
Oak Bluff West, with 14 attached homes in four
buildings.
Builders have discovered that condos appeal to sev-
eral age groups, from young people buying their
first home to empty nesters who are downsizing.
Andrew Koop, owner and president of Irwin Homes,
says affordability is another key consideration.
"The cost of land and servicing that land is so high
that all of a sudden condos are a viable option,"
Koop says. "The apartment-style condos start at the low
$200,000s and max out at about $350,000."
The family-run business will showcase four Parade of
Homes condo entries including bungalow-style condo-
miniums at 4 Pilgrim's Point in Pritchard Farm Southlands
Village and at 54-70 Oak Forest Cres. in The Oaks. It also
has apartment-style condos at 89 Creek Bend Rd. at Creek
Bend Condominiums in The Woods and at 3485 Pembina
Hwy. at Allure Condominiums.
"When it comes to apartment-style condos, amenities are
incredibly important. At The Woods, we're going to have a
car wash in the underground parkade. We're also going to
have a hobby room down there," Koop says.
Irwin Homes has four more sites that are zoned for condos,
and Ventura's Comack says he's optimistic about the future
of Winnipeg's condo market.
"We are looking forward to putting a lot of new, exciting
projects together."
