Events kick off this year with brand new networking and cultural opportunities. On Tuesday, March 13, delegates can two choose from two options. They can take a trip out to South Beach Casino & Resort for an evening of gaming, which includes transportation from-and-back to the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg. The second option is a movie night, presented by the Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival. Participants can sit back and enjoy watching a first-class film in the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg's Presentation Theatre. It's a popular tradition at Vision Quest to finish with a Gala Banquet on closing night. This year's Gala happens Thursday May 15, and the evening includes a delicious three course dinner accompanied by guitarist Jason Tuesday, a cultural presentation by Plains Ojibway Singers and Dance Troupe, artistry by Victoria McIntosh, and fashion show by Cree-Ations. Featured comedian Ryan McMahon will headline the evening's entertainment. Ryan is one of the most dynamic Aboriginal/Native American Comedians working in Canada and the United States today, and the first Native graduate of the prestigious Second City Conservatory (Toronto). Ryan's show is a loose, fast paced, silly but always honest look at society from the perspective of a "Native dude." Ryan's comedy is irreverent and boundary pushing as he focuses his attention on the good, the bad and the ugly of the collision between Indian Country and the mainstream.
