Both courses are managed and oper- ated by PGA of Can- ada golf professional Barry Gibson. The St. Vital Golf Centre features Win- nipeg's largest, top-conditioned all-grass practice tees, along with practice putting and chipping areas. The centre is home to McGibby'sGolf,afullservicegolfshopwith thelatestinequipment,clubfittingtechnol- ogyanddigitalvideoswinganalysis. McGibby'sisanauthorizedPingn'Flight fitting centre. This operates using Ping's industry-leading custom fitting software, backed by radar-based Flight Scope technology, to help with both fitting and teaching. Along with complete custom club fitting, afullscopeoflessonsareavailable,includ- ing private lessons, group lessons, begin- nerclinics,andjuniorprograms. Up highway 59 from the centre, Maple- wood Golf Course, formerly the old Rat River course, has undergone extensive remodelingandimprovements.Thecourse now boasts complete flood protection, drainage, and fairway and green renova- tions. It also features a modernizedcourselay- out,whichtakesfullad- vantage of the unique rolling river basin to- pography. The Rat River winds throughthelayout,com- ing into play on several holes. Players will experience small undu- latingelevatedgreens,rollingfairways,and strategic tee shots and approaches. This results in a course that provides a scenic, funchallengeforallskilllevels. Maplewood Golf Club is fully open for public play, tournaments and leagues and has a popular senior's league on Wednesdays.
