2 Manitoba Food Processors Association Delicious food from home makes the perfect holiday gift By Jillian Einarson T here is nothing better than receiving a beautifully arranged gift basket full of new and unique Manitoba food items. buy Manitoba, a program to help you discover Manitoba made foods has partnered with local, family owned gift basket company The Mulberry Tree to offer special baskets filled with Manitoba food. The Eco box is the perfect size for sending a bit of Manitoba to someone living abroad, or to carry with you on your travels. Black Pearl Coffee Over the years I have found black Pearl to be a supplier that provides great coffee and fantastic service. They are continuously striving to provide the best coffee to Manitobans. I purchase their café Femino coffee as it comes from a women's co-op in Peru that creates quality coffee and quality of life for their members. John Russell Honey John Russell believes in purity, quality and dedication to the art and craft of beekeeping. Every jar of honey is hand-filled, packed and labelled in small batches for quality control. They also provide a line of honey with high quality added ingredients for superb flavour. My favourites are cinnamon, apple butter breakfast Spread and Lemon! YOMM Hibiscus Tea I decided to carry their line because of the superfood qualities of Hibiscus. The packaging of their product is very attractive and looks amazing in gift baskets. Their business also supports farmers in africa by purchasing the hibiscus from them and improving their quality of life. John Boy Farms The farm itself has a rich history in Manitoba – it was established in 1879. In 2011 the owners purchased apple Junction and have continued the business of pressing apples to make premium fresh apple cider. They recently started producing apple Syrup – a delicious product with only three ingredients and you can pronounce them all! Manitoba apple cider juice, sugar and citric acid. Mordens' of Winnipeg Mordens' has been producing quality chocolate since 1959. They are an evolving company, yet they keep the tried-and-true traditions of chocolate making intact. Many companies produce chocolate-covered almonds, but when you compare them, Mordens' comes out on top for taste! They are a company that prides themselves in producing products that are second to none, as well as excellent customer service. Floating Leaf Wild Rice & Quinoa Pilaf This product was chosen because of its versatility. People want healthy products but convenience at the same time; the pilaf mix is both. The Ratuski family has been providing canadians with healthy wild rice products for over 70 years.
