Local 204 is a new concession stand located on the main concourse at the MTS centre featuring burgers, poutine creations and classic platters made with Manitoba ingredients. The Local 204 menu was developed in collaboration with buy Manitoba, a program designed to help consumers discover food made or harvested in Manitoba. In addition to using Manitoba ingredients, Local 204 identifies product names on the menu, so you can recognize where your food comes from and find it later in store. "The Local 204 menu, named in honour of the Winnipeg area code, proudly features premium-quality Manitoba products, with signature highlights that include the 'Local 204 burger' , 'Keystone Turkey burger' and 'danny's buy Manitoba Sandwich' ," explained centerplate's Executive chef Roger Wilton. Sourcing Manitoba ingredients is a priority for centerplate, the supplier of food and beverage services for the MTS centre. all Natural Meats, danny's Whole Hog, Elman`s Food Products, Granny's Poultry and Winkler Meats are some of the many Manitoba food companies with products featured in menu items. "It has always been our focus and desire to support and help showcase the diverse selection of fine products that are produced in our great province. There is a lot more than just beets and perogies," said Wilton. The Local 204 concession stand has become very popular with Manitobans, especially Winnipeg Jets fans. "The response has been incredible, each game brings new fans and many returning customers," said Wilton. Watch for Local 204's coupon that will be distributed during the Roar of the Rings, offering two dollars off their combo Specials, which includes a burger, crispy french fries, apple fennel coleslaw and a juicy Elman's pickle. Local 204 is open at major MTS centre events, including all Winnipeg Jets games.
