"If you know anything about the energy of food, it all starts from the seed — to growing it, to car- ing for it, to loving it, to cooking it with enthusi- asm, to bringing it to your plate. It's a constant flux of energy that goes into your food." The two-night, adults-only package welcomes both kitchen newbies and seasoned foodies. After enjoying one of Tétreault's gourmet organic piz- zas for dinner the first evening and a hot breakfast the next morning, all made with as many locally sourced, organic ingredients as possible, guests set off on an adventure to gather fixings for the four-course evening meal they will help prepare, complete with a bottle of organic wine. The first stop is Prairie Oils & Vinegars in Stein- bach, the province's first oil and vinegar tasting room, where guests discover new tastes and fla- vour combinations and leave armed with some special ingredients for dinner. The next stop is Stonelane Orchard Nursery & Market Garden, just outside of Steinbach. Guests meet Stonelane's farmers and learn how they use Soul food Guests of a unique culinary escape in southeast Manitoba will have plenty of time to sit back and relax — after digging up and picking their own vegetables for their gourmet dinner. Nestled on a 3.5-acre lot at the end of a country road halfway between Steinbach and La Broquerie, Calder House Bed & Breakfast and Healing House offers its Friends & Lovers package each summer and fall to guests looking for something different and delicious.
