>> There are no limits on design or location, but custom- home builder Arlt Homes does have one rule — the golden rule. company vice-president Jason Arlt says he treats custom- ers the way he'd want to be treated. "I like to be treated with respect, in a way that's fair and a way that's timely. those are our guiding philosophies," he says. "We make sure everything that goes into one of our homes is the right quality from the beginning. We pride ourselves on always doing a great job." Arlt didn't grow up with plans to join the family business Ken Arlt started in 1976. He has a mar- keting degree from the university of manitoba's Faculty of business, but his strong interest in ar- chitecture inspired him to start working with his father in 2003. "my father was in the stucco trade and he saw an opportunity to transition into home building," Arlt says. "He just saw a great opportunity to be involved in a business where he had a lot of inter- est, and to follow his dream of owning his own company." that dream was the foundation for a business that's been going strong for almost 40 years. Arlt Homes now has five employees and has established relationships with doz- ens of tradespeople it works with on a regular basis. "He'd always been inclined that way. He was com- mitted to building quality homes for people. We build the best homes we can at the most afford- able prices, giving value to our customers," curtis says. "We give our customers as much as we can." the first Hilton Home was built in the Garden Grove community. this fall, the company will have six entries in the parade of Homes, including hous- es in Stonewall and bridgwater Lakes. "We have a home in Kildonan Green which will be the kickoff to Devon- shire Village, which is a new phase and a completely new development," curtis says. "A lot of thought goes into choosing our show homes for the parade. this is an exciting industry. the product we're delivering is not like any other product," he adds. Winnipeg's housing market is going strong and interest rates remain low, which makes it the per- fect time to consider buying a new home, and you can't beat the location. "there are so many positive things happening at once for our city and our province," he says. "the last eight to 10 years have been unprecedented." curtis has lived in many Hilton Homes over the years, and he's proud to say he lives in one now. "We build good-quality homes at good prices. that's why we've been in the business for so long," he says. "We make sure we're still doing our best everyday." check out Hilton's Fall parade of Homes entries in South pointe at 228 Stan bailie Dr.; in Stonewall at 8 campbell rd.; in Kildonan Green at 14 tychonick rd.; in bridgwater Lakes at 111 Lake bend rd. and 54 Appleford Gate, and at bridgwa- ter town centre at 240 park West Dr. to learn more, visit www.hiltonhomes.ca.
