"It will have a distinct, attractive feel, featuring a variety of designs and housing options, and will be a green, walkable community with an urban/ traditional vibe to it." Affordability is also an attractive part of the equation, since lots for single-family homes will be smaller. "At the same time, builders will be able to build a wide range of homes on the lots from, say, 1,200 square feet up to 2,500 square feet. Those homes will be designed to offer excep- tional value not only in terms of their price point, but in how well they function." Boles says it's been a priority from the start to make Devonshire Village as affordable as pos- sible. "The community is projected to have 100-plus single family homes by the time it's completed, along with duplexes, fourplexes, multi-family apartments, con- dominiums, townhomes and 55-plus communities," Boles says. "Our vision is to have builders provide consumers with a wide range of housing options, as not everyone has the same needs, or budget." Hilton Homes owner Spencer Curtis says Devonshire Village's housing mix will ensure there's something for everyone, and the community itself will be an attraction. "It's going to have a different feel, quite a bit of green space and walking paths. In that sense, it's going to be somewhat reminiscent of Bridgwater Forest, so I think people will really like that," Curtis says. "The community will also have architectural guidelines, but they won't be onerous. They'll ensure that the homes have a high finish level with lots of character, but won't be so onerous that they'll hamper builders' ability to be creative with their designs." A vaulted ceiling and gas fireplace with rich tile surround at the Hilton show home at 14 Tychonick Bay provides a glimpse of how fashionable and func- tional home interiors will be in Devonshire Village.
