We're known for being one of the most generous and caring places in Canada. Time and time again, Winnipeggers are there for each other when it matters most. I've seen firsthand what can happen when a community takes collective action for a common benefit through my involvement in United Way. Thanks to the support of compassionate people like you, Winnipeggers have access to life-changing programs and services through United Way's essential network of 100 agency partners. Together, we're making it possible for children and youth to have a safe place to go outside of school hours, where they can build their self-esteem and get the encouragement they need to be all that they can be. Families have access to resources that can help them move from poverty to possibility. And Winnipeggers who are struggling can find the support they need to take better care of themselves and their families. To understand the impact these opportunities have on people in our community, I invite you to read about Dominic and Katie, Lani and Mike, and Yi Zhong on the following pages. They are just a few of the thousands of people who have changed their lives because people like you made it possible. Whether you can donate $20, $200 or $2,000, your investment in Winnipeg can change lives. Every two minutes, on average, someone in our city accesses a United Way- supported program or service. To ensure these resources continue to be there for our friends and neighbours when they need them most, please join our community of supporters today. Together, we can make Winnipeg a better place to live for everyone. Sandra Oakley 2014 Campaign Chair Together we are stronger. Together we are possibility. Sandra Oakley
