"you can change the intensity of the lights, temperature, or disarm your security system with a touch of a button on the display of one of those devices," he says. "and you can also control sound. We can wire your home so that you can enjoy your favourite music no mat- ter where you are." as good as today's systems are, they still require wiring. conse- quently, Banks says it's always best to have the wiring done during construction rather than after. "We always recommend installing wiring during construction," he says. "That way, everything's in place and where it should be for when you want to use it – you can always fill out your system in stag- es. Basically, the idea is to get the wiring in place. Then, we can finish it at any time. That said, we can still put systems in existing homes. It just means fishing wiring into walls without causing damage. It's more labour intensive, but it can be done." rosenberg says once all the wiring is in place, the stage is literally set for people to enjoy their homes to the max. "The impact these systems have is huge," he says. "In today's busy world, home automation that includes a high-quality home enter- tainment system makes a house into a home where you can truly relax and rejuvenate at the end of a long day. all you have to do is press a button, and enjoy. With one button, you can enjoy what a home is designed to look and feel like." Some of those designs are so elaborate, george Jetson could only fantasize about them. artista homes takes the concept to new levels with its Spring Parade of homes entry at 124 lake Bend rd. The house in- cludes a football fan's dream room, with de- luxe multi-level seating overlooking a faux playing field, multiple TV screens and glass display cases for collectibles and manne- quins in nfl team uniforms. There are even goal posts and a digital news ticker. In the past, artista has custom-built a Win- nipeg Jets room with similar features — with seating in a space built to resemble a hockey arena — as well as the ultimate man cave, complete with faux cave walls. On the other end of the spectrum, extra-large screens can be hidden away in elegant great rooms, discreetly disguised as art or mirrors. and with the technology that's available to- day, more traditional home entertainment systems can provide a movie-going experi- ence that rivals that of full-size movie the- atres — and the popcorn is practically free by comparison. Siepman says affordable options range from sound bars with subwoofers to systems that give you 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. all SySteMS go Cont'd from page 39 Call Allan Asplin Phone 204.925.2900 Toll Free 1.877.262.7072 Web www.HighlandsLiving.ca Walkout Lots starting at $99,900 Town Homes starting at $199,900 Golf Course Scenic Lakes All Season Park Open House Sundays 12-4pm 3559154 1 2/12/15 5:07:25 PM 40 Parade of Homes Spring 2015
