With a different theme each day, campers can participate in Red Light, Green Light! on March 30; Formula 1 Science on March 31; On Your Mark, Get Set, Create! on April 1; and Machine Mania on April 2. The camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with early drop-off and late pickup available. Young performers aged five to 12 can also enjoy spring break camps hosted by the Manitoba Theatre for Young People. "They'll be doing a host of different theatre school games, puppet making, crafts," says box office manager Neil Shah. "Basically anything you would normally do at theatre school here, we condense it into a week." For a family outing, you can check out a performance of Spot at MTYP during spring break. The show features catchy tunes and unforgettable puppetry geared for kids aged two to seven. "If a parent is looking for a first-time theatre experience for a child, this is the one to come to," Shah says. "It's got some audience participation. The kids have to help Spot the Dog find his friends on the farm. It's a very cute and lovable show." Public performances run from March 27 to April 1. Photos by Leif Norman Festival of Fools will have a true circus feel, and will offer craft activities and face painting as well as juggling and hula-hooping workshops. Kids will be able to watch trapeze shows and even try it out themselves at the Festival of Fools at The Forks.
