A fresh coat of paint in a dynamic new colour gives every room new life. pantone's colour of the year is marsala, an earthy red-brown that adds warmth to spaces. But there's a new palette to suit every personal taste when it comes to hot colour trends. dulux chose a vivid caribbean blue called tropic night for its colour of the year, while Benjamin moore prefers a soft neutral called guildford green. along with pumpkin, terracotta and orange, popular hues range from vibrant greens to cheery yellows and soft dove grey. if a full-on painting spree doesn't fit your schedule, an accent wall is a bright alternative. Just make sure you choose a colour that won't clash with the other three walls in the room.
