77 Manitoba Moments Share your photos with us on Instagram with #ExploreMB Wekusko Falls on northern Manitoba's legendary Grass River route. Admire the pictographs at Tramping Lake along the way — it's believed images painted in red ochre on rock faces just above the waterline were created by aboriginal artists who were seated in canoes. Parks Canada offers canoe trips for paddlers with whitewater experience on a 100-kilometre Owl River route through Wapusk National Park for a limited time in June, when conditions permit. There's even an option to have an expert guide to give you insight into the park's wildlife, archeological sites and geography as you travel from forest to tundra near the Hudson Bay shore. East of Lake Winnipeg, the Pigeon River is known as "Manitoba's Colorado." Watch for black bears and bald eagles as you canoe, kayak or raft along a challenging expanse of some of the best whitewater in North America through Atikaki Provincial Park, or tackle the rapids and waterfalls of the Bloodvein River. In the Whiteshell, take a guided canoe trip from Falcon Trails Resort to the Caddy Lake Tunnels. Or canoe along the Assiniboine River west of Winnipeg. You can follow routes along the water between campsites at Spruce Woods Provincial Park. > pc.gc.ca > falcontrails.mb.ca > manitobaparks.com Adrenaline Action Steinbach's Adventure Skydiving offers tandem jumps from altitudes up to 11,000 feet — which translates to about 45 seconds of fabulous freefall. Gimli's Skydive Manitoba takes tandem jumpers to altitudes of 10,000 feet, with solo jumping for experienced skydivers from 3,000 feet. Terrestrial daredevils zip over the ravines of the Manitoba Escarpment in the Pembina Valley with Hy-Wire Zipline Adventures. Try your hand at a rope course and hipline at Winnipeg's Adrenaline Adventures, or go cable wakeboarding on the company's 10-acre lake. Windsurfing more your style? Harness the power of the prairie wind as you sail over Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba. Steady windstreams attract wakeboarders to the lagoon in Grand Beach Provincial Park, while kiteboarders go for the choppier waters of Patricia and Winnipeg Beaches. In Winter, grab your snowboard and try snowkiting on Lake Winnipeg or Riding Mountain National Park's Clearwater Lake. > 339jump.com > skydivemanitoba.com > hywirezipline.ca > adrenalinemb.com @mattcairnsphotography 77 EXPLORE MORE 339JUMP.COM
