K ids and teens between the ages of 10 and 18 who took part in the first clinic of the season will get a chance to demonstrate their new skills during the game. The next clinic is set for late August, with a pre-game performance at the Aug. 29 home game. Participants get instruction from the cheer team, coaches and team managers on Aug. 22 and Aug. 23, with a morning practice prior to the game-day performance on Aug. 29. Kids receive a Junior Cheer Team Clinic T-shirt, poms, a welcome lunch and a ticket to one game – plus one ticket for a friend or family member. The clinics are fundraisers for the Cheer & Dance Team, helping cover expenses for such things as uniforms, tracks suits and their annual Grey Cup trips. While the team — which has included male athletes since 2012 — focuses on performing at football games, members volunteer at a number of community events throughout the season. The team is also taking part in two fundraising events for adults in August, starting with the first bOMberYOGA Women's Club yoga workshop at Investors Group Field on Aug. 4. Bring your own mat for a yoga class on the turf led by Marc Amphavannasouk of Awesome Hot Yoga And Barre. Registration starts at 6 p.m., with yoga for all experience levels from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. A closing reception with snacks, smoothies and player autographs follows from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. On Aug. 8, you can join the action at the first Blue Bomber Cheer & Dance Team Beach Volleyball Tournament at Reset Interactive Ultralounge from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and games start at 12 p.m. The registration fee of $25 includes a drink ticket, at least three games and entry to the after-party.
