Warm up at a Winter Coffee House (page 68) at Manitou Opera House in Manitou. Coffee houses are scheduled for: Jan. 7, Jan. 21, Feb. 4, Feb. 18, March 3 and March 17. Enjoy performances by Manitou Coffee House Musicians. They're a local organization that includes the following musical groups: On the Edge, Wing and a Prayer, and Take Four.

The 11th Annual Altona Winter and Multi-Cultural Festival (page 68) will be held on Feb. 3 to 4 in Altona. It's a day full of family fun, activities and entertainment for all ages. Enjoy a pancake breakfast, hotdog roast, sled dog races, horse and sleigh rides, cardboard toboggan race, flag parade, trivia, colouring, and candlelight walk through the park, weather permitting. The second annual Carman Blizzard Fest (page 68) is set for Feb. 10 to 11 in Carman. The first one offered lots of fun including: snow sculptures, cross country skiing and skating, a curling bonspiel, hockey games, dog sled rides, hot chocolate, hay rides, snow bowling, an evening concert series, an evening PJ party for the kids, a snowball social, and fireworks.
