>> take a drive through Sage Creek and you'll be awed by how far this community has come in nine short years. With the growth of the Village Centre, the finalization of construction on a new Warde avenue entrance, and an early learning to grade 8 school coming soon, Sage Creek is a vibrant community that's changing every day. The build-up of new amenities is exciting, but it's the mosaic of great people who truly bring this community to life. From families walking dogs and kids riding bikes or exploring a playground, to young couples heading out for a quick snack at the grocery store, more than 1,200 families currently call Sage Creek home. Community member and Sage Creek Residents' association member Monica Nash has lived in Sage Creek since its early days. "We moved to Sage Creek six and a half years ago," she explains. "We really liked the notion of having a nice community where all of your amenities are within walking distance, and we loved the vision of having trails running through the community." growing families, young professionals and even empty nesters looking for their dream home have all chosen to live in Sage Creek. True to the devel- oper's vision, this wide demographic is reflected in the diverse range of home styles and sizes. "We have homes with back lanes and rear garages from $365,000," Dave Wooden of Kensington Homes explains. "We also have four-bedroom two storeys that are over 2,000 square feet and perfect for large families. Best of all, because of the architectural diversity, you don't see the same houses side by side in repetition. This makes it a very visually appealing neighbourhood and it enhances the value of your investment over time." When you see how far this young community has evolved, one of the most exciting questions becomes where will it go from here? "as construction keeps building and things continue to be de- veloped, the sense of community we feel here will only grow stronger. One of the things that we're really looking forward to is the new playground at Ron Duhamel Park, which has be- come a great central meeting place for residents," says Monica. along with the new playground, the fourth in Sage Creek, buzz continues to grow around another community changing project: École Sage Creek School. This brand new dual-track early learning to grade 8 school will serve between 450-600 students and offer up to 114 new child-care spaces. incorpo- rating bold designs inspired by nature, the 68,000-square- foot school is expected to welcome students in early 2017. When asked why families continue to look closely at Sage Creek, Dave Wooden agrees that the new school increases the desirability of the community. "Number one, there is a new school under construction in the neighbourhood, and that's always huge," he explains. "Number two are the new amenities that continue to pop up: Sobeys, Shoppers, Tim Hortons, MLCC, Sage Creek Dental… you're benefiting from a wide variety of shops and services, a convenience not typically found in newer communities." For residents who moved to the area for the amenities, many more are coming soon. Construction is wrapping up on some exciting new commercial spaces, which will house new res- taurants and shops. Best of all, they are all within walking or biking distance from every corner of the community. "it's a very livable neighbourhood, in part because of the walk- ing trails and the grasslands," Wooden explains. "The scenery is striking and the trails promote active living and community. On top of that, there are ball diamonds, a basketball court and playgrounds… it's become a neighbourhood able to provide everything people want."
