POST-SECONDARY: University of Saskatchewan TEAM: Four CFL: Four STATUS: National After going undrafted in 2011, Kohlert joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2011, but did not play (Practice Roster & Injured List) and returned to school. He came to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as a free agent in March 2012 and made his debut on June 29 the same year. He has been a key part of the Blue and Gold's Canadian corps of receivers ever since, with 50 games and 36 starts leading up to the start of the 2015 season. At the end of 2013, Kohlert was a free agent, and he was chosen by Ottawa in the Expansion Draft. However, he returned to the Blue Bombers right away, re-signing with the team in February 2014. During his time with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies (CIS), Kohlert led the team in receiving as a senior, hauling in 28 passes for 506 yards and two touchdowns. One of the Bombers' most consistent players, Rory started all 18 games in 2014 and finished up as the No. 2 receiver with a career-high 594 yards. He matched his best total of three touchdowns and made 44 catches, only one less than his 45 in 2013. He had six games of at least 50 receiving yards, 214 YAC yards, four receptions of 30+ yards, and 13 second-down conversion catches. Active in the community, Rory has taken part in events such as I Love to Read Month with school kids, helped mentor amateur sports teams and given his support to former Blue Bomber Chris Cvetkovic's Cvet's Pets as a CFL rep for the charitable organization.
