Selo Ukraina "Ukrainian Village" is the site of Canada's National Ukrainian Festival, Dauphin's Countryfest and other major events. The 10,000-seat amphitheatre is built on the hillside and looks down on a large stage. The building can cater events for up to 560 people. The Ukrainian Village is a restored Ukrainian pioneer homestead with a church, school, two homes, hall and shoe repair shop. The Festival Square features a display area and a seating area for 1,500. Admission charged. See St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church – built in 1898, a monument of the first Ukrainian Catholic Bishop, Nykyta Budka, a grotto, pioneer home, and Trembowla school. St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church (PHS) is located in the beautiful rolling hills near Riding Mountain National Park. The church is a rare example of a domed Ukrainian church constructed of logs. location: PR 566, 11.5 km from Menzie b Ethelbert Ethelbert & District Museum features outdoor clay oven, old school room, kitchen, sewing room depicting the life of the early settlers to the region. Constructed in 1899, there are 10 log buildings. The 1908 bunkhouse contains a rare example of a traditional Ukrainian clay bake-oven and is the only known structure to feature a long-shingle wooden roof. See a log homesteader's cabin, a school house, and church, a steam hauler, and a classic snowmobile exhibit. There is a stone and arrowhead collection, antique car collection, antique tractors and agricultural machinery. This is the Burrows Mill Provincial Heritage Site and the starting point for the Historic and Scenic Tour in the RM of Grandview. Open from June to September and by appointment. Five elevators still stand intact beside an abandoned rail line. Guided tours by reservation year-round, interpretive centre and arts and crafts gift shop. Open May to September. Its design reflects traditional church forms common in Bukovyna and Romania, then part of the Austrian Empire. Sites include one-room school and former CNR station. p: 204-835-2341 Roblin The Asessippi Townsite was established in 1882 by the Shell River Colonization Company. When the railway failed to pass through the town, the inhabitants resettled in Roblin. Today, all that remains are the ruins of abandoned buildings.
