See the windmill, church, school and other buildings. Visit The Livery Barn Restaurant for Mennonite fare and stop by the corner store. Also, visit the Village Centre, which houses exhibition galleries, collections and a souvenir & gift shop. Take in Pioneer Days, held every August long weekend. Open May to September. Other fun stuff to do includes zipline rides, tractor train rides, play structures, mega sandboxes, bale maze, petting farm and a corn trail. location: north of Steinbach on Hwy. 12, then 2.75 mi east on PR 311 (toward Giroux) p: 204-371-5556 w: www.pennerpumpkins.com Visit Steinbach Corn Maze and Adventures and bring the family to enjoy this nine-acre corn maze plus a variety of mazes for all ages. There's also a play structure, lookout tower, air bouncer/netted trampoline, go-karts, as well as an eating and concession area. Fire pits, firewood and roasting sticks available. Groups welcome. location: from Winnipeg, 32.4 km south on Hwy. 59, 13.1 km east on Hwy. 52, turn right 1.5 km p: 204-346-4160 w: www.steinbachcornmazeandadventures.com Sundown St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bell Tower and Cemetery, Siko Area (PHS) is an excellent example of a modest Ukrainian Church that pioneers erected in Manitoba. Construction commenced in 1908 with the colourful interior completed in 1910. The site also has a cemetery dotted with the distinctive tall white crosses of the Orthodox faith and a log bell tower of traditional design and construction. location: 6 mi south and 1 mi east of Sundown Whitemouth At the Whitemouth Municipal Museum, see an original trapper's shack, two log buildings, a Christ Anglican church, a train caboose, antique tractors, a two-man rail car on tracks, farm equipment, small household items and machinery. Be sure to join us for Heritage Days every September. Open during July and August on request. Donations accepted.
