20 MBiz | november 2015 i n the business world, growth is a good sign. And when that growth is sustained, it's a good indication a company is consistently hitting the right notes with clients. "The FWS Group of Companies has definitely been in growth mode," says the Winnipeg-based company's Chief Strategy Officer, George Depres. "We've more than doubled sales since November 2012. Things have been going well for us." So well, in fact, that the FWS Group — which focuses on integrated design-build solutions for targeted industry segments — recently built a new, more expansive head office in the Tuxedo Business Park off Kenaston Boulevard. "We'd outgrown our previous premises," says Depres. "So we built a new headquarters that increased the size of our Winnipeg office from 16,000 square feet to 26,000 square feet. The new building offers far more usable space, including meeting rooms and enhanced work spaces. "Equally important has been the addition of improved technology like Smart Boards in all meeting rooms, Microsoft Lync/Skype technology, and other important IT enhancements. This has allowed us to connect more seamlessly for meetings and generally work more effectively." Employee well-being was another important consideration.
