This is a time of joy and wonder but it is also a time for reflection; a time to give thanks to the Creator for our blessings, our health and the people in our lives. This is also a time to remember those that have passed on, cherish the memories made with them and reflect on their legacies and their contributions to our communities as we continue in our journey of life. For many this time of the year brings many hardships, especially for the many families and children that will go without. In this time of celebration, let's take the time to think of others and take the opportunity to give back and share with our community members. There are simple things we can do that will go a long way in lifting the spirits of many. Volunteer at your Church, local community centre, or shelter, visit with the Elders, and donate toys, food or winter clothing to those in need. Together we can bring hope; joy and the spirit of the holiday season into the lives our community members. I share with you the following prayer for guidance: O Heavenly Father, creator of us all, Help us to fully know we are all your children and that we belong to one great family; and help us to follow your words to love one another as Christ loves us, so that we may serve as vessels of your love. We humbly pray for you to guide and govern us through all the cares and occupations of our daily life and that we remember we are ever walking in your grace and love; and in this, keep us ever mindful of the needs of others through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen And now these three remain: Faith, Hope and Love.
