Braving whiteout conditions leaving for Edmonton and other travails, Kim and Jordan Wheeler hung in there for a one in a hundred chance to win tickets to this year's Super Bowl. While in Edmonton to accept the honour of Distinguished Alumni at MacEwan University's Fall convocation ceremony on November 17, Kim Wheeler and her husband Jordan stopped at a sports bar to catch the latest Jets game. She entered a contest thinking that is was for a t-shirt or something but she was pleasantly surprised to learn that she had won the chance to partake in a Super Bowl draw. There was one stipulation though and that was to be at the bar when the draw took place. So on a snowy day in January, the intrepid couple left Winnipeg for the drive out to Edmonton. Jordan said he had a gut feeling they were going to win. Kim said, " There was still a tiny bit of doubt that we may not win, but when I got No. 77, I knew then that we had it in the bag!" Though not a firm believer in numerology, Kim turns 47 on the day of the Super Bowl. Everything keeps to be popping up sevens. While other people had several entries in the draw, Kim and Jordan had only one as the draw began with friends following closely on Facebook the day of the draw. The couple won two tickets to Super Bowl 50, accommodations and $1000 to go to their air fare. For the super couple, Super Bowl 50 is not only their first super bowl but their first NFL game. "We're not really big fans of the NFL and we don't have a favourite team but maybe by half time," said Jordan. By Trevor Greyeyes SupER bOwl tICkEtS FOR SupER COuplE
