Weddings COURTNEY & BRAIDAN'S BIG DAY
Decorations by Rick owner Rick Mayhew likes to tell his
brides and grooms he'll give their wedding the same
attention he would devote to his own child's special
day. And often, he develops such a close relationship
with the couple that he's sorry to part ways when his
work his done.
As father of the groom, Mayhew didn't have to bow out
of the picture when his son Braidan got married — he
just gained a daughter in bride Courtney. And he pulled
out all the stops for their wedding decor, since guests
expected nothing less.
Mayhew transformed an already-beautiful venue at
the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre into a magical
space with luxe table settings, tutu-clad chair covers
and dramatic centrepieces decorated with crystals and
twinkle lights. And he took special care with lighting
and all the little extras, even incorporating Braidan and
Courtney's names into accessories and onto the dance
floor, where the couple were enveloped in a cloud of
dry ice for their first dance. We can't wait to see what
he does for his next child's wedding. ❦
