JOHN KENDLE EDITOR'S NOTE In memory of Patrick Flynn troduced you to The Bucket List, a serial feature meant to shed light on the wild and crazy things people do in the spirit of 'you only live once; so here goes…' In the first instalment of The List, veteran Winnipeg In the last issue of Winnipeg Boomer, we happily in- journalist Patrick Flynn told of his one and only visit to Wreck Beach, a nudist haven in Vancouver. His story was sharp-witted, full of detail and wholly self-depre- cating — exactly the kind of tale we wanted to run. Sadly, Pat died shortly after the April issue of Winnipeg Boomer hit the streets. His death came as a shock, not just to his family and close friends, but to the many journalists he worked with, challenged and mentored over his nearly 40-year career. I was lucky to count myself among that number, and I' his last story was part of a series called The Bucket List. Although Pat was meant to be the journalist who told We dedicate this entire issue of Winnipeg Boomer to Pat Flynn, his life and his work.
