This month APTN will present an inter- nationally acclaimed and award-winning documentary inspired by Naomi Klein's bestselling book — This Changes Everything. Watch the network premiere of This Changes Everything — the feature- length documentary narrated by Cana- dian journalist, author and social activist Naomi Klein and directed by Canadian filmmaker and director Avi Lewis. Tune into APTN, Sunday, August 21, at 9:00 p.m. MT on aptn w. Filmed over 211 days, in nine countries and five continents over the span of four years, This Changes Everything, represents seven powerful portraits of communities pioneering the battle against climate change. From Montana's Powder River Basin to the Alberta Tar Sands, and the coast of South India to Beijing and beyond. Unlike other films about climate change, viewers will be taken on a 90 minute journey around the world, witnessing individuals in this fascinat- ing search for change. Interwoven with stories of passion and struggle, you will meet those individuals on the forefront. Crystal Lameman is a young Indig- enous leader and activist from Beaver Lake Cree Nation in Alberta, situated in the middle of the oil sands. Crystal is looking for answers amidst an envi- ronmental disaster taking place in her territory. She spearheads an initiative to gain access to a restricted military base in her quest. Vanessa Braided Hair is the co-founder of ecoCheyenne and a wildlands fire- fighter. She is organizing tribal citizens to oppose corporate development on tribal lands. The group is protecting their territory from mining, promoting renewable and sustainable energy along the way. Lakota Elder Henry Red Cloud is the owner of Lakota Star Enterprise at the Pine Ridge Reservation. He is bring- ing renewable energy and green jobs to Aboriginal communities. With breath-taking cinematography and current climate change issues facing communities all over the world, this dy- namic and impressive documentary will show how powerful a group of people working together can be.
