>> Stainless steel hasn't gone out of style, but it has lost
some of its lustre. Slate, graphite and bold black finishes let
homeowners spend less time polishing their refrigerators
and more time admiring their contemporary good looks.
Fridgidaire's Smudge-Proof ranges, wall ovens, dishwash-
ers and refrigerators have a protective coating to resist
fingerprint smears and make cleaning less of a chore. And
darker colours introduced in recent years do double duty,
providing warmth and allowing for more contrast in de-
signer kitchens.
GE has come up with matte-finish slate appliances, and
its Monogram Professional series has a scratch-resistant
graphite finish layered over stainless steel. now the com-
pany has added some drama with a full range of black ap-
pliances.
kitchenAid boasts that it was ahead of the pack in 2015
when it introduced its line of black stainless steel refrig-
erators, wall ovens, microwaves and dishwashers. The com-
pany has since expanded the line to under-counter wine
cellars, beverage centres and ice makers.
